YouTube student discount

If you’ve never had or tried YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium, you may be eligible for 1 month free! After the free month, your subscription continues at 20 lei/month. Cancel anytime.

To get the discount, you must be a full-time student at an eligible higher education institution and verify your student status through SheerID.

YouTube Premium includes ad-free videos, downloads for offline viewing and background play. Your membership also includes YouTube Music Premium.

The student plan is available to both new users and users who have previously had Premium, provided they meet the eligibility requirements. YouTube confirms whether your account qualifies for the free month during sign-up.

If you already have an active YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium membership, you must cancel it before switching to the student plan. You can continue using the same Google account.

To activate the student plan, you must:

• study in a country where YouTube student memberships are available, including Romania;

• attend an eligible institution listed in the SheerID form;

• complete student status verification.

🔥 How to activate your student discount:

1. Slide the discount button in the app or click “Activate” on the website.

2. Sign in to the Google account you want to use for your membership.

3. Select the YouTube Premium student offer and click “Get Premium”.

4. Complete the SheerID form with the requested information and your institution.

5. Upload the requested documents if your eligibility cannot be verified immediately.

6. Wait for confirmation. Manual verification may take up to 48 hours. Once approved, return to YouTube to continue signing up.

7. Select or add a payment method.

8. Check the price, any free trial offered and your first payment date, then click “Buy”.

You can get the student membership for up to 4 consecutive years. To keep the discount, you must reverify your eligibility every year.

If you don’t reverify or are no longer eligible, your membership will automatically switch to a full-priced membership when your eligible period ends, unless you cancel.

Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. If you receive the free month and don’t want to be charged, cancel before it ends.
