If you have an active Spotify subscription and want to switch to a student subscription, you do not need to cancel your existing account. The switch will take place at the end of your current billing cycle. To purchase a Spotify Premium Student subscription, you must do the following:

To buy a Spotify student subscription, you must:

• Be enrolled as a student at a higher education institution in a location where YouTube student subscriptions are available;

• The higher education institution must be approved by SheerID. The institution's eligibility is determined by the SheerID program.

🔥 How to activate the student discount:

1. Slide the bar to activate the discount.

2. Click the “Switch to Student Premium” button.

3. Fill out the SheerID form with your personal details and the name of your educational institution. If your institution appears on the list, you are eligible for the student discount.

4. The system may ask you to log in to your student portal or upload a supporting document (e.g., a valid student ID, enrollment certificate, or class schedule).

5. Wait for confirmation. SheerID will attempt to verify your eligibility instantly. If this does not happen automatically, the uploaded documents will be manually reviewed. You will receive an email notification about the result within a few minutes. For assistance with the verification process, you can contact SheerID customer service. *In cases of high request volume, the verification process may take up to 48 hours.

6. Complete the registration. Once verification is successful, you’ll be redirected back to the Spotify page.

7. Enter or select a payment method.

8. Click the “Buy” button to complete the transaction.

If you meet the eligibility conditions, you will be eligible for the student discount for a maximum of 4 years. To maintain the discount, you must reconfirm your student status annually through the SheerID system. If you do not, your subscription will automatically switch to a full-price Spotify Premium Individual plan.
